Police: Man who pointed gun at officers arrested
BATON ROUGE - Agents with the Special Response Team, a tactical unit of the city's police force, arrested a man wanted for initiating an officer-involved shooting this weekend.
Miketrez Jones, 22, was apprehended Tuesday. Police said he pointed a gun at an officer who was chasing him after fleeing a traffic crash Saturday. The officer fired a shot toward Jones, but it did not hit him.
Jones was booked into jail on aggravated assault upon a peace officer with a firearm and resisting a police officer by force or violence charges.
A second person, Jacob Washington, was previously arrested for principal to those charges and obstruction of justice charges.
