BAKER - Parents of a Baker resident found themselves stranded in their own house because of their son Saturday morning, according to authorities.

Baker Police arrested Douglas F. Herrin II Sunday morning after they said he took the family's pickup without permission, removed the battery from his mother's car, and stole his father's wallet.

Police said both Herrin's parents are physically disabled, so taking their vehicles left them in a dangerous sitaution.

They said the father's wallet also contained about $150 in cash, a credit card, and a drivers license.

Investigators charged Herrin with exploitation of the infirmed and booked him into the parish jail.
