Police: Man killed in New Orleans was targeted
NEW ORLEANS - New Orleans' police chief says investigators believe the 33-year-old man slain Sunday was the target of a drive-by shooting, a likely drug-related shooting that also killed a teenager and wounded five other people.
Superintendent Ronal Serpas Serpas said Monday that two victims are out of the hospital but three remain in critical condition - a 32-year-old woman and boys 2 and 4 years old.
Crimestoppers GNO president Darlene Costanza says the hotline has received a number of tips in response to a $5,000 reward.
She, Serpas and City Councilman James Gray asked anyone who knows anything about the shooting to call Crimestoppers or police.
They spoke outside police headquarters, in front of a big blue banner reading "We're Hiring. Join NOPD.org."
Serpas says the department needs 400 more officers.
