Police: Man arrested after storming into sleeping couple's home
BATON ROUGE - A man is accused of the robbery and rape of a couple while they were sleeping in their home early Friday morning.
Baton Rouge Police arrested 23-year-old Willie McCormick after he and two other suspects allegedly broke down the bedroom door and attacked the couple.
It happened around 3 a.m. on the 12500 block of Tams Drive.
Police say one of the suspects repeatedly pistol whipped the male and asked him for money and the keys to his SUV, while another suspect took the woman to another room to rape her.
Investigators say another couple in a nearby bedroom woke up during the attack and a male shot one of the suspects in the arm.
Willie McCormick was later identified as one of the suspects in a DNA test after he was dropped off at a hospital.
McCormick was booked into East Baton Rouge Parish Prison and charged with aggravated rape, aggravated assault and armed robbery.
