Police make arrest in pool hall beating
BATON ROUGE - Police arrested a woman in connection with the severe beating of a man last month.
Just a few days after WBRZ first reported the attack on Wang Nguyen outside a billiards lounge, police arrested a woman he was last seen arguing with outside the business. Ha Ni Thi Nguyen is charged with principal to first degree battery.
Authorities said the victim and the woman were seen on surveillance video at odds and the woman brought another man into the area who attacked Nguyen.
Nguyen's family members said he was in a coma and was breathing with the help of a machine.
Police have not announced any other arrests in the case.
Previously, the victim's family members said they were frustrated with the pace of the investigation and insinuated they'd take justice into their own hands.
"I'm going to do it myself," said Len Nguyen, the victim's nephew. "If the law cannot do it, I'm going to do it myself."
The attack happened outside Saigon Billiards on Florida Blvd.
