BATON ROUGE - Police in Baton Rouge said they're looking for a man armed with a shotgun who was involved in a shooting overnight.

Lt. Don Kelly said one person was injured in the shooting, which happened around 1:50 a.m. In the 1800 block of North Marque Ann.

He said officers responded to a report of shots being fired and found the 34-year-old male victim in the courtyard of the Centurion Arms Apartments. Kelly said he was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Investigators said the victim was approached by another man armed with a shotgun, who started shooting at him for an unknown reason. They said the victim tried to run, but was hit and possibly shot again before falling to the ground.

Police did not have a description of the attacker. Anyone with information about the shooting should call the BRPD Homicide Division at (225) 389-4869.
