BATON ROUGE - Police in Baton Rouge are searching for a pair of people suspected of scamming a person diagnosed with Alzheimer's.

31-year-old Dustin Gant and 29-year-old Faye Cooper Smith are accused of stealing more than $50,000 from the 58-year-old victim.

Police say Gant and Smith went to the victim's home with the pretense of doing odd jobs four months ago and stole a number of checks.

Police believe there are a number of other victims in the Baton Rouge area.

Both suspects are wanted for felony theft, forgery, and monetary instrument abuse. Anyone with information on the whereabouts of these suspects or who believe that they have been scammed is urged to contact the Financial Crimes Division at 389-3871.
