BATON ROUGE- Police have arrested a man after a domestic violence situation turned into a standoff this morning.

Police arrested Terrance Hines, 27, after the incident at the 2200 block of Carleton Street.

BRPD spokesman Don Stone said early this morning Hines pulled a gun on his girlfriend, but the woman escaped the home and called police.

When officers showed up Hines would not come out and the standoff began.

Sgt. Stone says SRT officers entered the home around 7:30 a.m. and arrested him. He said a police van had to be called in because Hines began breaking the windows out of the police cruisers he was put in.

Hines is accused of false imprisonment, domestic abuse battery, and property damage. Stone said he also had an outstanding warrant for second-degree battery of his girlfriend.
