Police investigating disturbance at Islamic Center
BATON ROUGE - Police said Friday they're investigating an incident at the Islamic Center in Baton Rouge involving a man with a gun.
Baton Rouge Police said around 9:20 p.m. Thursday they were called to the center near Louisiana State Police headquarters for reports of an armed man causing a disturbance.
Witnesses said the man, an estranged member of the center, came in with what they believe was a gun and started causing trouble. The man left before police arrived.
Officers said the man, whom police are not identifying, was taken to a local hospital for a mental evaluation and is still there.
No charges have been filed against the man as of Friday evening.
