BATON ROUGE - Police responded out to a report of a child shot in Baton Rouge just after 6 p.m. tonight.

It happened at a home on Conrad Drive in the north part of the city. Witnesses on the scene told News 2 the child was taken to a local hospital after reportedly being shot in the chest.

Police said they were investigating, but did not have any information to release on the child's condition.
