Police identify suspect killed in officer stabbing
BATON ROUGE - Authorities identified the man shot and killed by Baton Rouge Police today during a confrontation in which investigators said he stabbed two officers.
Detectives said Bradford Louis Etheredge, 37, died after the incident at his residence on N. 24th Street just after 1 p.m. Monday.
Police said two officers responded to reports of a disturbance there between Etheredge and another person. When police intervened they said Etheredge stabbed them, and they fatally shot him in response.
The two officers were taken to a nearby hospital for their injuries, which investigators said were not life-threatening.
BRPD said the incident was still under investigation.
