Police identify car involved in hit and run death
BATON ROUGE - Police said they've identified the type of car used in a deadly hit and run this weekend in Baton Rouge, and asked for the public's help finding its driver.
Lt. Don Kelly said investigators believe a white 2008-2011 Dodge Challenger hit and killed Louise Hunter, 47, Saturday night on Greenwell Springs Road.
Witnesses said Hunter was crossing Greenwell Springs when the car hit her, then fled the scene. She later died from her injuries at Baton Rouge General.
Police released a photo of a car similar to the one they believe was used. Kelly said the wanted vehicle should have damage on the front passenger side, and would be missing a passenger's side mirror.
Anyone with information about the vehicle and its owner or driver the night of the hit and run should call the Baton Rouge Police Vehicular Homicide Unit at (225) 389-7819.
