Police identify burglary suspect shot overnight
BATON ROUGE - Police released the name and status of a teen who was shot while burglarizing a Baton Rouge home on Wednesday morning.
Investigators said 19-year-old Bem Sampson was detained after he was shot in the arm by a 57-year-old victim while he attempted to burglarize a residence on Adams Ave.
Police said they found the teen around 1 a.m. about a block away from the crime scene on Monroe Ave.
Sampson was treated at a nearby hospital, released and booked into East Baton Rouge Parish Prison on a simple burglary charge.
BRPD said the incident is still under investigation.
