HOUMA- Police say a homeless man faces an attempted second-degree murder charge after he stabbed a man who took him into his home.
Houma Police said the 50-year-old victim was allowing the homeless man to stay with him and the two got into a fight Friday while drinking.
Houma Police Chief Todd Duplantis said the homeless man pulled out a pocket knife and cut the other man's scalp from the top of his head to the back, down to the skull.
After the stabbing, the injured went to a neighbor's home and said "somebody tried to scalp him."
She called for help. The victim was taken to Terrebonne General Medical Center.
