Police have questions after sister kills brother
AMITE- Police spent Wednesday evening questioning a 63-year-old woman who they said killed her brother after while he grilled in his backyard.
Alfred Hill, 62, was shot and killed in the 100 block of South Second Street. His nephew stopped a police officer driving through the neighborhood and reported his mother shot her brother.
The police chief told WBRZ News 2 after his officer was flagged down, Daryllynn Hill went inside the house and refused to come out. Deputies with the Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff's Office and its SRT squad shot tear gas into the house and Hill eventually surrendered.
Chief Jerry Trabone said Hill even called 911 to report the tear gas, and asked for police.
Trabone was not immediately sure why Hill shot her brother but said the nephew and victim were outside when Hill came from inside the house with a gun. He said the two men thought it was a toy gun and laughed, then Hill shot her brother.
He said charges will be filed overnight and he'll release more details Thursday.
