Police: driver failed to yield, caused deadly wreck
BATON ROUGE- Plank Road reopened following an evening-long closure after two vehicles collided and one person died.
As of this post, State Police had not reported the name of the person who was killed.
But, investigators said the person who died hit a pick-up truck after the driver of the truck turned into the smaller car's path. The truck was attempting to turn across Plank Road into an industrial compound and failed to yield to traffic, investigators said.
The driver of the car died on the scene. The driver of the truck was ejected and was taken to an area hospital.
Plank Road near the airport was closed for more than three hours.
