PONCHATOULA- Police officers are chasing leads after two letters were mailed to elementary schools with a vague threat Monday.

A day after those letters were opened, investigators said they are moving forward with the investigation, developing clues from the two pieces of loose leaf paper.

Police believe the same person or persons are responsible for the mailing that appeared at Perrin Early Learning Center and Tucker Memorial Elementary.

Police would not go into detail about what was in the letters, but released one line. The author asked, "have you watched the news?" Possibly implying trouble at the schools.

The letters were received Monday, the first day back after a gunman opened fire at an elementary school in Connecticut, killing 20 youngsters.
