Police chase ends after suspect rams two cruisers
SATSUMA - A two-parish police chase ended shortly before 7 p.m. Thursday when officers from various departments were able to apprehend the suspect.
Police in Hammond said Andrew Baker stole a TV from Walmart and tried to run over workers who tried to stop him. Police said when they arrived, Baker drove off and they followed him on both directions of I-55 in Tangipahoa Parish and eventually to westbound lanes of I-12.
State Police got involved and the pursuit ended in the parking lot of a gas station just off the Satsuma exit on I-12, in Livingston Parish.
Investigators said Baker smashed his vehicle into cruisers from both State Police and Hammond Police before being arrested. No officers were hurt in the altercation.
