BATON ROUGE - Police said they arrested a woman Sunday after they found her unresponsive in the bedroom of her residence with drugs in plain sight and her 6-year-old daughter unattended.

34-year-old Danielle Oubre was booked on charges of child desertion and possession of a Schedule I CDS.

Police said they responded to the residence in the 1300 block of Aster Street at around 4:22 p.m. Sunday to assist EMS with an unresponsive woman. Upon arrival, officers said they observed two ecstasy pills in plain view on the floor.

EMS were able to wake the woman with a successful sternum rub, according to the arrest report.

Officers said they located Oubre’s 6-year-old daughter at the scene, and said she was left alone while the mother was incapacitated.

Oubre was booked into the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison on the above charges.
