Police captain's crash investigated
NEW ROADS - The Pointe Coupee Parish Sheriff's Office is investigating a crash involving a New Roads Police officer Friday night.
Sheriff Bud Torres said the officer involved is Captain Mark Munson, and that this is his second wreck in a month's time.
Munson was not given a breathalyzer exam, even though numerous law enforcement officers at the scene that night told neighbors he smelled of alcohol and could not walk straight.
Torres has called a press conference at 2 p.m. to talk about this issue.
