Police: Bystander tried to revive child found in pool
BAKER - Investigators said a bystander jumped in and tried to revive a Baker child found unresponsive in a neighborhood pool, but was unsuccessful.
Police said the woman was visiting the pool at the Azalea Gardens Trailer Park when she saw 9-year-old Ladarius Bradford at the bottom of it. She jumped in and pulled him out, then tried to give him CPR until EMS arrived.
Emergency responders rushed him to Lane Memorial Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Baker Police detectives said Bradford was at the trailer park with his grandmother, who brought him with her while she visited a friend. Detectives said the grandmother told shem he didn't know how to swim.
Baker Police Chief Mike Knaps said the investigation is ongoing, and an autopsy has been scheduled.
