A Gonzales man was arrested Tuesday for his alleged role in the death of three Gonzales citizens following a boating incident in Lake Maurepas in May.
Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries said 25-year-old Blake Caronna was the operator of a boat when it spun out of control, fatally wounding three people and injuring another May 29th. Authorities found the bodies of 20-year-old Anna Hite, 24-year-old Ryan Ducote and 14-year-old Mikayla Thibodeaux, all of Gonzales, in the days following the accident. 24-year-old Thomas White, Gonzales, was the other survivor. He suffered arm and pelvic injuries.
Police booked Caronna into the Livingston Parish Jail and charged him with three counts of negligent homicide, two counts of reckless operation of a watercraft and negligent injury.
White was cited for one count of reckless operation of a watercraft. Both were cited for not having enough personal flotation devices for everyone on board, failure to change ownership of registration and overloading a motorboat.
