Police: Alcohol permit expired, man arrested.
PIERRE PART - Police say a Pierre Part man was arrested for serving alcohol after his state permit had expired.
62-year-old Herman "T-Herm" Cavalier of Pierre Part was arrested Friday and charged with 2 counts of operating without a State Alcohol Beverage Permit.
Officials say the arrest comes as a result of the Assumption Parish Sheriif's Office and Louisiana Office of Alcohol & Tobacco Control's (ATC) joint investigation into an altercation that happened at T-Herms Lakeview Inn on New Years day. One man was arrested from the altercation and is charged with 1 count of second degree battery.
According to authorities, Cavalier's State Alcohol Beverage permit expired on November 30th, 2013.
Police say the ATC contacted the owner's wife about the expired permit on December 26th. She stated, "they would not be renewing the state alcohol permit for the location."
The investigation is still ongoing.
