Police: Alcohol could be a factor in early morning fatal crash
BATON ROUGE - One person died and another injured in a crash Sunday morning.
Police say alcohol could be a factor in a crash around 3:00 a.m. where the driver of a sedan, Dennis Bridges, 51, failed to stop at a red light and crossed into on-coming traffic.
Investigators say Bridges was travelling west on Florida Blvd. and crashed into a truck crossing Florida going north on O'Neal Lane.
Bridges died on the scene from his injuries, and a passenger in his vehicle was transported to a hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
The driver of the truck remained on the scene.
The crash remains under investigation.
