Police accused of stealing from dead man resign
Two St. Gabriel police officers accused of stealing money from a man after he died in a car crash resigned Monday morning.
At Tuesday's city council meeting, the the council voted to accept thier resignation.
Keith Snowten and Rodrick Wesley allegedly stole $2,000 from the dead man's wallet and split the money.
An ex-girlfriend of one of the men tipped police off about the money.
Both men are charged with theft and malfeasance in office.
