Police: 2 victims still in critical condition after Bourbon St. shooting
NEW ORLEANS - Two men tried to shoot each other after having a fight, said New Orleans Police Department Superintendent Ronal Serpas.
9 people were shot at around 2:45 a.m. Sunday morning on Bourbon Street. Officials say 2 of the victims are in critical condition.
"This is a heinous crime," said Serpas. "This is two young men, both armed with firearms, who chose to settle a dispute between themselves without a moment's care for anyone else." Serpas called the shooters "cowardly" and that the fight was over "something stupid."
Police say they haven't named suspects yet, but they did get a good look at the crime from surveillance video of nearby businesses and homes.
