BRAITHWAITE, La. - A plantation house built nearly 200 years ago in Plaquemines Parish near the Mississippi river is going on the auction block.

Saturday's noon auction of the Mary Plantation is the latest chapter in the history of the French Creole-style home.

Neal Alford, president of Neal Auction Co., says the plantation is being offered at absolute auction: There is no minimum or reserve price and the property will go to the highest bidder.
