BELLE CHASSE- Plaquemines Parish officials will be distributing ice, water and ready-to-eat meals to victims of Hurricane Isaac beginning on Saturday.
Officials said all of Plaquemines on the east bank of the Mississippi River remains closed as floodwaters slowly recede.
The parish's west bank remains closed on Louisiana Highway 23 from the Alliance refinery near Belle Chasse south toward the mouth of the Mississippi River. Floodwater is being pumped off the roadway.
Authorities said the supplies will be distributed beginning at noon on Saturday at 11504 Louisiana Highway in 23 in Belle Chasse.
Other distribution sites may be set up.
