Plaquemines downgrades evacuation orders

BELLE CHASSE, LA - With Tropical Storm Karen dying down, Plaquemines Parish has downgraded their evacuation orders from mandatory to voluntary.

The mandatory evacuation was put in place for only some parts of the parish. 

Officials recommend visitng www.plaqueminesparish.com to stay up-to-date with Tropical Storm Karen.

UPDATE: On the eastbank, a dusk-to-dawn curfew is in effect.  This excludes residents returning home after evacuating.
