DONALDSONVILLE - A man killed in a chemical plant accident last week, will live on, in the form of life-saving technology.

Ronald "Rocky" Morris died Friday evening at CF Industries, when a pipe carrying nitrogen, ruptured. He'd been at the job for over three decades, as part of the plant's rescue team.

Family and friends of Morris say his job, wasn't his whole life.

"He loved the fire service, being able to help people," said Donaldsonville Fire Chief Chuck Montero. "He loved helping people with projects. You couldn't have given him a better present, that to tell him you needed help with a project."

Morris was a volunteer fire fighter and responder for just as long as he worked at CF Industries.

Montero also called Morris his best friend, and says their memories together, began at a young age.

"Anything you needed him for, he was there to help," said Montero.

His family is asking, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to St. Elizabeth Catholic School and the Donaldsonville Fire Department at CFLA Credit Union or Capital One Bank.
