Planned Costco store causes traffic concerns
BATON ROUGE - Wholesale chain Costco filed an application with East Baton Rouge Parish to build a warehouse store at the old Coca Cola Bottling Plant near I-12.
Costco said if approved, they intended to build a more than 144,000 square foot store and gas station at the site, employing 175-200 full and part-time workers.
The area surrounding the former bottling plant is heavily industrialized, creating some concern about the amount of traffic the wholesale merchandise store could bring to that part of the city-parish.
News 2's Mike Steele will have more on concerns and what's next in the store's progress tonight.
