A couple in San Francisco pleaded not guilty to killing a man they suspected was pimping and beating their 17-year-old daughter. Barry Gilton and his girlfriend, Lupe Mercado are accused of shooting Calvin Sneed after learning their daughter might have been working as a prostitute for him. He was shot in his car near where the couple lived. Lawyers for the pair say Sneed beat and pimped the daughter after meeting her in Los Angeles six months ago and the girl refused pleas by her parents to come home.
