A pilot who took off from Lafayette, LA ran out of gas and had to make an emergency landing on a golf course in Houston. Brendon Ford says an apparent gauge malfunction told him he had more fuel than he had and the engine sputtered and quit over the golf course. He saw one golfer on the 11th fairway, flew over him and put the plane down on the grass. No one was hurt and the plane was moved to an airport. His destination was Columbus, Texas, about 70 miles from Houston.
