Picture of bank robber released

BATON ROUGE - Police released a surveillance photo of the man they said robbed a Baton Rouge bank Tuesday morning.

Cpl. Don Coppola said the armed man made off with an undisclosed amount of cash from the Regions Bank at 5950 Plank Road after the robbery around 10:40 a.m.

Coppola said the man came into the bank with a gun and disarmed the security guard, then demanded money. After he got the cash police said he took off on foot.

Investigators described the man as in his late 20's to early 30's, about 5'10" to 6' tall and weighing 200 to 230 pounds, possibly with a small goatee. They said the man was wearing a grey hooded sweatshirt, green polo shirt, blue jeans and a light-colored baseball cap.
