Photos of forgery suspect released
BATON ROUGE - Sheriff's deputies released photos today of a woman they said tried to pass forged checks at an East Baton Rouge Parish Walmart in March.
Detectives said they were told on April 2 that two checks were stolen from mailboxes in the northern part of the parish. The checks showed up at the Walmart in Zachary on March 17 and 28, when investigators said a woman tried to pass them after they'd been altered.
The checks weren't accepted, and the same woman tried to use the checks both times. Investigators said she wore floral nursing scrubs.
Anyone with information about the woman's identity should contact the East Baton Rouge Sheriff's Office at (225) 389-5000. You will remain anonymous, and could be eligible for a cash reward.
