SHREVEPORT- Five suspects were arrested in Shreveport in a counterfeit money sting that ended after a chase that included phony money being tossed out of car windows.
State police had tipped agents with the Caddo-Shreveport Narcotics Unit about word of a possible counterfeit money transaction Tuesday at a Shreveport mall.
As law officers moved in, three people jumped into a car and drove away, throwing the counterfeit money out of the car window.
After the car was stopped by police, three of the suspects ran away, but they were eventually caught.
Caddo deputies said federal authorities were notified because counterfeit money was involved.
Four of the suspects are adults. One is a juvenile.
