BATON ROUGE - Free rabies and basic vaccinations will be offered for free to dogs and cats this Saturday in Baton Rouge.

A licensed veterinarian will be on hand to administer the shots at the Charles R. Kelly Community Center, located at 3535 Riley Street, from 8 a.m. to 12 noon this Saturday.

The free shots will only be available for residents living in the 70805 zip code. Pre-registration is not required. There is a minimal cost for an EBR tag and license, according to a city spokesperson.

Dog owners must bring dogs on a leash and cats must be safely contained in a carrier. More information about the event is available by calling 225-774-7701, ext: 119.
