Petco says no more China treats
NEW YORK- Petco says it'll stop selling dog and cat treats made in China due to complaints from customers.
There's fear the treats make pets sick and Petco says no more treats from China sold in its stores by the end of this year.
The FDA hasn't been able to identify why pets are getting sick since it launched an investigation last year.
The agency got more than 4,000 consumer complaints and found at least 1,000 dogs died after eating Chinese-made chicken, duck or sweet potato jerky treats.
Petco is switching to treats made in the U.S.,New Zealand, Australia and South America.
