Person of interest in Bourbon Street shooting arrested
GRETNA- Authorities said a man, wanted as a person of interest for a deadly shooting on Bourbon Street in New Orleans over the weekend, is in custody.
Justin Odom, 20, was arrested on unrelated charges in Jefferson Parish after being questioned by NOPD detectives for the shooting.
"Odom turned himself in to Gretna Police," a spokesperson said. "NOPD homicide detectives interviewed Odom with his attorney present."
The department said it would not release further information until later.
Early Sunday morning, ten people were shot on the popular street in the French Quarter. Wednesday, a 21-year-old woman from Hammond was taken off life support and died as a result of her injuries from the shooting.
Earlier, detectives asked for help locating Odom and an associate named Josh or Joe, also described as a person of interest. As of this post, and Odom's arrest, there was no information about the associate.
Police haven't named Odom a suspect in this case.
