Pepsico has a winner in new Lay's flavor
NEW YORK- Lay's potato chips will stay cheesy with a hint of garlic after fans voted to keep the flavor in stores until at least the end of the year. It was part of the company's yearlong promotion that asked for customers' flavor ideas. Karen Weber-Mendham submitted the Cheesy Garlic Bread flavor and gets $1 million or one percent of sales, whichever is higher. Cheesy Garlic Bread beat out two other flavors submitted by fans: a maple-syrup tasting Chicken and Waffles and Sriracha, which tastes like the hot sauce used in some Thai dishes. Lay's is part of Frito-lay and the parent company is Pepsico Inc.
