People upset new form of government not set yet
ST. FRANCISVILLE- Citizens of West Feliciana are taking some of the people they elect to court.
They claim police jurors have sabotaged their push to move the parish from a police jury style government to one that more closely represents Livingston and Ascension, a parish council-president form of government.
The home rule charter was approved by voters in November, but little has been done to establish the change, including electing a parish president.
Thursday night, the police jury decided to have another election in October, offering voters to deny last year's vote setting-up a new form of government. The election will need to be filed with Secretary of State.
