PORT VINCENT - Cars and pickups lined up at gas stations in flood-prone Port Vincent as people filled up on gas and other last-minute supplies ahead of storms this weekend.
Some told News 2 the warnings for Tropical Storm Lee came too late to do serious preparations, but that doesn't mean they'll be going into the holiday weekend empty-handed.
"I'm just being real precautious right now, hoping I won't need it for my generator," said Ronnie Parker. "But if I do I'll use it, if not I'll put it in my boat and go fishing"
People filling up also said they wanted to get gas before prices spiked from a double-dose of demand from Labor Day and storm preparations.
Sandbags are available for people that want them at the Port Vincent fire station off Waterson Road.
