Radio talk show lines in Baton Rouge are lighting up because of crime, and there are concerns certain parts of town are given priority.

Another issue is accused killer Aramis Jackson’s criminal history and if he should have been on the street prior to the murder of Alexandra Engler and shooting of her daughter Ariana on Beauregard Street.

Jackson was arrested last year on a weapons charge. It was dropped after questions over who owned the gun. He was arrested again in April on another weapons charge and got six months in jail but only served three.

News 2’s Mike Steele got answers on why Jackson was out and if the current case involving Alexandra and Ariana Engler is being treated differently.
