BATON ROUGE - Pennington Biomedical Research Center is helping make the community healthier, one family at a time.

They're working on a new study aimed at making the whole family healthier. Mandy Crowley joined us on 2une In this morning to tell you how you can get involved.

"We're trying to make it as easy as possible to give families real-life feedback in their home environment," she told News 2's Kylie Dixon.

"Drive" focuses on kids ages 2-6 and their parents. Pennington will send a representative to your home once a week for about five months to give you advice on nutrition and physical activity.

"Early intervention can help kids develop a health lifestyle and the problems we see with obesity and diabetes later in life," Crowley explains. "We know a family approach is more successful at doing that. It's easier to adhere to healthy habits when other people in the family are practicing them as well."
