Pelicans top Timberwolves 100-88, remain in hunt for final playoff spot
MINNEAPOLIS - Heading towards the finish line in a hotly contested playoff race, the New Orleans Pelicans beat the Minnesota Timberwolves 100-88 on Monday to retain possession of the 8th seed in the Western Conference playoff race.
Anthony Davis had 24 points, 11 rebounds, 6 blocks and 5 assists as the Pelicans (44-37) maintained a tiebreaker lead over the Oklahoma City Thunder (44-37).
The Pelicans will play San Antonio Wednesday in their final regular season game, while the Thunder will play the Timberwolves (16-64).
