CORRECTION: A previous version of the story said the incident happened near a Burger King in Plaquemine. Stassi corrected the location to Mike's Club Sunday afternoon.

PLAQUEMINE – A woman was struck by an Iberville Sheriff’s vehicle and is in stable condition Sunday afternoon, according to Iberville Parish Sheriff’s Office.

According to Sheriff Brett Stassi, the incident happened near Mike's Club on LA 1 in Plaquemine around 9:30 p.m. Saturday.

Stassi said the woman was transported to Our Lady of the Lake hospital with life threatening injuries. As of 2 p.m. Sunday, Stassi said the woman is doing better and is in stable condition.

Louisiana State Police are investigating the crash.
