Pedestrian killed in Florida Blvd crash
BATON ROUGE – Police say a pedestrian was killed after she was struck by a car on Florida Blvd in Baton Rouge Wednesday morning.
According to Baton Rouge Police, the crash happened around 12:10 a.m. Wednesday in the 7600 block of Florida Blvd.
Investigators say 56-year-old Mercedes Montgomery was walking on Florida Blvd when “for unknown reasons” stepped out in front of oncoming traffic. Montgomery was struck by a 2010 Ford Mustang and died at the scene.
Police said the crash remains under investigation.
