Pedestrian killed in Bossier Parish
SHREVEPORT - Authorities say a 32-year-old man has died after being hit by a car on Louisiana Highway 527 in Bossier Parish.
Louisiana State Police say in a news release that Andrew Burks of Elm Grove was killed when he was hit by a car on Friday night.
The news release says he was hit by a 2012 Volkswagen Passat. Police say the driver tried to swerve, but Burks was in the highway and was hit.
The news release says police suspect that Burks had been drinking.
Police say toxicology samples will be submitted for analysis and the investigation is ongoing.
