Pawlenty Pulls the Trigger on Ads
Republican hopeful Tim Pawlenty plans to run the first TV ad of the 2012 presidential campaign season in Iowa on Wednesday.
The former governor of Minnesota is using the commercial to build support for Iowa's leadoff caucuses next winter as well as the state Republican party straw poll, an early test of support.
Pawlenty is not as well known as some of his rivals for the Republican nomination and plans to spend about half of July in Iowa campaigning ahead of the straw poll in Ames on August 13.
