New Orleans Hornets point guard Chris Paul is out indefinitely after an MRI confirmed an ankle sprain.
Paul suffered the injury in the third quarter of Friday's game against the Portland Trailblazers when he came down on Joel Przybill'as ankle.
In 10 games this season, Paul averaged 23.8 points on 59 percent shooting, 9.2 assists and 1.7 steals per game. He leads the NBA in three point percentage, having made 65.5 percent of his shots from behind the arc.
Hornets officials said Paul will be re-evaluated on a regular basis and his status will be updated as necessary.
